Battery life depends on the movement, the watch's features, and the listing's published specs. Most standard quartz movements run 1 to 3 years per battery; solar models (like Citizen Eco-Drive) replace battery changes with light charging. Battery replacement is a routine service at any watch shop.

For most people, yes — quartz is the most accurate common movement type. That said, we don't test accuracy; the figures you see in listings are manufacturer claims. If you need certified chronometer-level precision, look for movements with published accuracy specifications.

Quartz watches are typically more affordable, more accurate, and require less maintenance than automatics. Many of our quartz models come from Citizen, Timex, Seiko, and Bulova. The trade-off for some buyers is the lack of a mechanical 'soul' — a personal preference, not a quality ranking.
